According to the CMO, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has chosen to reassign the portfolios of the absent ministers in order to prevent any interference with the state government's ability to function, particularly now that monsoon season has started.
Shankarrao Gadakh, a Sena supporter, was given the portfolios of the industries minister Subhash Desai, the higher and technical education portfolio held by Uday Samant, the environment portfolio held by Aaditya Thackeray, the water supply and sanitation portfolio held by Gulabrao Patil, the transport portfolio held by Anil Parab, the agriculture department held by Dada Bhuse, and the employment guarantee scheme held by Sandipan Bhumare.
