With an effortless 159-run chase at the National Stadium in Karachi, England began their seven-match T20I series against Pakistan on the right foot. When England's acting captain Moeen Ali chose to win the toss and bowl, things didn't go as planned initially because the Pakistani opening pair of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam had everything under control.
As Rizwan continued to assault the England pacers with his all-around game, Babar proceeded to play some textbook strokes. With the introduction of spin, things rapidly shifted. Leg spinner Adil Rashid was responsible for putting the visitors back in the game with a ball that confused Babar Azam.
Rashid bowled a magnificent error in the 10th over, when the score was 85.
That wicket had an immediate effect since Pakistan could not form any significant partnerships moving forward and finally stumbled to a below-par 158/7 in their 20 overs.
Rashid was the standout bowler, finishing his four overs quota with figures of 2/27.
Medium pacer Luke Wood made a tremendous comeback and finished with 3/24.
England easily won the game because of Harry Brook (42*) and Alex Hales (53).
