Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. This year i.e. in the year 2023, the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi is being celebrated. On his birth anniversary, prayer meetings, programs etc. are organized in schools as well as at every small and big place across the country.
Nobel Prize winning poet Rabindranath Tagore gave him the title of Mahatma, after which he came to be known as Mahatma. After this, on June 4, 1944, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose addressed Mahatma Gandhi as 'Father of the Nation' in his message from Singapore Radio, after which he started being addressed by the same name across the country.
