Gurugram: Delivery of pizza through drone proved to be costly for a company. Police has registered an FIR against this pizza delivery company. In fact, a drone going to deliver goods to a residential area in Gurugram, Haryana collided with a dish antenna, causing panic among the local people. For this reason the police have registered a case against the company. According to information received from media reports, police said that this incident happened at around 5 pm on Thursday in G Block of South City 2 residential area. Police have registered FIR.
Why was the FIR filed?
The drone was being used by a company called Sky Air at a time when prohibitory orders (Section 144) were in force in the district due to the visit of Chief Minister Manohar Khattar. For this reason, a case has been registered by the police against the company. The Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of the Gurugram-based society informed the Sector 50 police station about the incident and a police team reached the spot.
Sky Air Company presented its Stand
The company (Skye Air Company) said in a statement that the pilot had no knowledge about the prohibitory order (Section 144). After learning of the orders the pilot attempted to make an emergency landing on a building in compliance with the law. According to the company, “There was an obstacle in the way of the drone, due to which it made an emergency landing in a nearby open area. Unfortunately the drone collided with a dish antenna and fell on the roof.”
According to the information received from the company’s website, Skye Air Mobility Private Limited is a drone mobility company based in Gurugram, Haryana. Its operations also extend to many other states and cities. According to the company, their drones are designed to deliver packages weighing from 500 grams to 50 kilograms.
