In an open letter, Prime Minister Modi expresses his solidarity with the Afghan Sikh community following the gurdwara attack in Kabul.

On Saturday, June 18, several bombs ripped through the Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul's Bagh-e Bala neighbourhood, while Afghan security personnel averted a larger tragedy by halting an explosive-laden truck from reaching the minority community's house of worship in the war-torn country. Two people were killed in the incident, one of whom was a member of the Sikh community.

PM Modi issued an open letter to the Afghan Sikh community days after the tragedy, praising their "spirit of strength and resistance against the horrific attack."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the horrific terror attack on a gurdwara in Afghanistan, which claimed the lives of two people, in an open letter to the Afghan Sikh community.

I would also like to offer my prayers for the victims of the terror attack, Late Shri Swinder Singh and gurdwara employee Ahmed Moradi, an Afghan citizen. I extend my heartfelt condolences to their family members,” the letter read."The terrorist assault on a place of worship and targeting of innocent civilian population is a ghastly act against humanity," PM Modi said.

PM Modi also wished those injured in the incident a speedy recovery. "India's sympathy with the Afghan Hindu-Sikh community at this tough time of anguish and pain," the letter continued.Swinder Singh and Ahmed Moradi, an Afghan labourer at the gurdwara, both perished in the attack on Saturday, and PM Modi expressed his sympathies to their families.
