The northeastern city of Changchun has been put into lockdown after witnessing a rise in COVID-19 cases. There were only two cases that had been spotted in the city. There are another 397 cases reported nationwide that concern China as 98 of them are in Jilin province. The Jilin province edges Changchun.
China follows “Zero COVID Cases” policy under that it is instructed to enforce lockdown in the region even there are merely two or three cases inspected. The residents of Changchun are commending to stay in homes and local, not important businesses are temporarily shut down. Also, the railways and transport are suspended for a while. The authorities have already imposed a partial lockdown in the city. The natives have to go through three rounds of mass testing and remain in complete lockdown.
China’s zero covid cases approach has amidly disarray international travel. China has completely shut down foreign travel. This is causing the loss in studies of foreign students in China. Students are stuck in their countries as China is not opening up to foreign travel in and out of the country.
China is expected to give relief to this rigid policy at the end of this month, March. The spike of new COVID-19 cases results in the partial lockdown of the country. China is performing mass testing, several industries also tested their employees in the workplace.
