Pratham Yogi, when we say “Shiva”, we are referring to a certain Yogi, the Adiyogi or the first Yogi, and the Adi Guru, the first Guru. The world’s largest Adiyogi Bhagwan Shiva statue is located at the Isha Yoga Foundation on the outskirts of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The place is surrounded by lush green fields at the foot of the Velliangiri Mountains in the Western Ghats, the Adiyogi Shiva statue is the world’s largest Sculpture.
Significance of Adiyogi Bhagwan Shiva
The 112-foot bust of Adiyogi Bhagwan Shiva, located at the Isha Yoga Foundation, has been recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest bust. This was announced by Guinness on its website. PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the ‘Adiyogi’ statue of Bhagwan Shiva at the Isha Yoga Foundation.
This statue of Bhagwan Shiva is 112.4 feet high, 24.99 meters wide and 147 feet long. This statue is a symbol of liberation and shows the 112 paths by which a human being can reach his ultimate nature through the science of yoga.
It is said that the design of Bhagwan Shiva’s face took about two and a half years to prepare and the Isha Foundation team completed it in 8 months. This statue is made of steel and is prepared by adding metal pieces. The weight of Bhagwan Shiva idol is 500 tonnes.
Shiva’s ride Nandi bull has also been prepared in a very special way. The upper part of Nandi is prepared by joining 6 to 9 inch big pieces of metal. Sesame seeds, turmeric, holy ash, vibhuti, some special types of oil, some sand, and some different types of soil are filled inside it. 20 tonnes of material is filled inside the statue and then it is sealed. It is said that thousands of devotees come here every day to see this idol of Bhagwan Shiva.
