Masks have been made mandatory by the government again as the tally of daily cases top 2000. The violation of wearing a mask would impose a 500 fine by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). The enforcement movement against mask violations is possible to start on Thursday.
In a meeting conducted by L-G Anil Baijal and accompanied by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Revenue Minister Kailash Gahlot and senior officials from the health and revenue departments, the Delhi government informed the DDMA that the Chief Minister is closely scrutinising the condition. Also, the deputy CM has already issued a standard operating procedure to schools, said, officials. That is all schools, colleges and other institutions would remain open under strict covid protocols along with a standard operating procedure would be designed.
“Aggressive Covid testing in Metro and railway stations and airports will restart soon. More emphasis will be laid on vaccination as it has helped to fight the disease, and Rs 500 fine for not wearing masks will be imposed, along with strict enforcement drives,” said an official.
