Mohan Bhagwat on “serving society” and how the RSS is fighting to make India

According to RSS president Mohan Bhagwat, the organisation is aiming to awaken and unite society so that India might become a "model society" for the entire globe.

People should volunteer to serve society as a whole, not just as an individual, according to Mr. Bhagwat.

He was addressing at an event about the numerous humanitarian initiatives carried out by the workers of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Delhi unit.

Bhagwat recently asserted that, aside from biological differences, men and women are equally capable and equal in all other respects.

Speaking on Wednesday at a book release event sponsored by the Rashtra Sevika Samiti, the Sangh Parivar's women's wing, in Nagpur, Bhagwat claimed that although women are revered as the "mother of the universe," they are treated as "slaves" at home. He asserted that giving women their due in society and empowering them to start at home. He claimed that Indians think like societies and not as individuals by nature and by their DNA, thus we must continue to inspire them.

Mr. Bhagwat advised Sangh members to work for society without considering their own interests when discussing welfare activities. He said “men don’t need to attempt to uplift women because they are more capable than men, and that’s why they don’t need any guidance. It is beyond the reach of men to guide them. So, let them choose their path”.

"We need to prioritize us above 'my and mine' while doing welfare work and this will help us evolve as a society," he said.
