Many senior leaders of the country's opposition parties have claimed that they have been issued a warning by the phone manufacturing company last night. In fact, some journalists have also been warned by 'Apple' that their phones are being targeted by state-sponsored attackers.
Some leaders have also shared information regarding this information. These opposition leaders include many leaders including TMC MP Mahua Moitra, Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, AAP MP Raghav Chadha, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and Congress spokesperson Pawan Kheda.
However, amidst these claims the Apple company has issued a statement:
Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha has also claimed that he has received a warning from iPhone about phone hacking. He has shared a post regarding this on his social media account X.
Claiming phone hacking, Shiv Sena UBT MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said, "I got an alert on my phone last night, which shows that it is a central government sponsored program and I need to be careful."
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has also given this information by sharing a post on his social media platform X.
TMC leader Mahua Moitra, who is being investigated by the Ethics Committee of Parliament over her role in the alleged 'cash for query scam', also posted on social media platform X.
BJP retaliated on the claims of opposition leaders
BJP leader Amit Malviya has hit back amid the claims of opposition leaders. He said in his post, "It's all well and good for the usual suspects to create a stir over a 'state sponsored' attack and pretend to be victims, but this brouhaha, hopefully, will turn out to be a joke this time too, just like before." Will end!
Apple says that if it detects activity consistent with a state-sponsored attack, they will notify targeted users in two ways. A threat notification will be displayed at the top of the page after the user signs in to appleid.apple.com. Additionally, Apple will send an email and iMessage notification to the email address and phone numbers associated with the user's Apple ID.
