While speaking about 'Swaraj' and patriotism on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned Shivaji and Sambhaji's accomplishments.

"When we talk about 'Swaraj,' the lives of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj even reinforce the feeling of patriotism in each Indian," Modi remarked during an event at the Raj Bhawan in Mumbai. He dedicated the Jal Bhushan Building and Revolutionary Gallery to the governor's home.

On Tuesday, he was greeted at the INS Shikra heliport in Mumbai by Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, his deputy Ajit Pawar, and protocol minister Aaditya Thackeray.

This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first meeting with Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which has erupted over the Hanuman Chalisa issue.

On April 25, the Sena chief boycotted a ceremony in Mumbai when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given the inaugural Lata Mangeshkar Award.

The Prime Minister will also attend several other high-profile events in Mumbai.

The Prime Minister had previously dedicated the Jagadguru Shrisant Tukaram Maharaj Temple in Dehu, Pune while praising the country's cultural history and referring to it as the "land of saints."

"We take pride in being one of the world's oldest living civilizations. If anybody deserves credit for this, it goes to India's saint tradition and sages. Because it is the home of saints, India is immortal. Some great spirit has descended to offer direction to our country and society at every period. The country is commemorating the birth of Sant Kabirdas today. During his speech on this  occasion, Prime Minister Modi stated:

Modi will attend the Dwishatabdi Mahotsav of Mumbai Samachar, which will be held at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai shortly.
