Annamalai Kuppusamy is an Indian politician and the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party of Tamil Nadu. Before this he was a police officer. He was appointed as the Tamil Nadu BJP President by National President Jagat Prakash Nadda on July 8, 2021.

Annamalai’s Police Career
He was involved in solving many high profile cases. He had also gotten stupendous success in containing the deteriorating law and order situation of Bengaluru with innovative policing.

- In September 2013, started his career as the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Karkala sub-division in the Udupi district of Karnataka.
- In January 2015, he was promoted as Superintendent of Police in Udupi district of Karnataka and served till August 2016.
- K Annamalai IPS got transferred to the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka and till October 2018, he continued as an SP.
- In 2018, he got promoted as a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru south.
- He resigned from IPS in May 2019.
- Joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2020.
Annamalai is a Tamil Nadu BJP state president; he is famous not because he is a president, the main reason for his popularity is his highly literate background. He is already being considered as a man who can become the CM of Tamil Nadu in the next 15 years.
