Shivraj Singh Chauhan

Shivraj Singh Chauhan is a famous politician of India. He is the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh state. He is a senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. Before entering politics, Shivraj Singh Chauhan was an RSS volunteer. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh at the age of just 13. He was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 2020 to 2023 and previously from 2005 to 2018.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan was born on March 5, 1959. Prem Singh Chauhan and Sundar Bai Chauhan are his parents. Shivraj Singh received gold medal in Post Graduation (Philosophy) from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. During the Emergency, he became part of the underground movements and hence went to jail.

He was married to Sadhna Singh. He has two sons. Chauhan was first elected to the state assembly in 1990 from Budhni constituency. However, the following year he was elected Member of Parliament for the first time in the elections to the 10th Lok Sabha from Vidisha constituency. Shivraj Singh Chauhan was elected Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on November 30, 2005. Earlier he was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 2005 to 2018, then from 2020 to 2023.
