Mohammed Siraj tries a sneaky run-out but gives up four runs in the process

Sunday's second ODI saw India defeat South Africa, largely thanks to a superb bowling performance from Mohammed Siraj. But in a funny incident, the pacer tried a sly run-out that cost South Africa four runs. Siraj received the ball from defeating Keshav Maharaj in the 48th over. When Siraj observed non-striker David Miller standing outside his crease, Sanju Samson, positioned behind the stumps, pitched the ball back to him. He attempted a rapid throw at the stumps to get Miller out, but he missed, and the ball sped out to the boundary.

The error was a blemish in Siraj's otherwise stellar bowling performance.

He made the first breakthrough for India, returned in the middle order to dismiss Reeza Hendricks, ending a potentially dangerous partnership for South Africa, and then displayed excellent death bowling, allowing just six and three runs, respectively, from his final two overs, including the four byes.

His stats of 3/38 were essential in keeping South Africa at a manageable 278/7, which ultimately proved to be far from enough.

While Shubman Gill was in top form when Kagiso Rabada made a brilliant return catch to end his innings, Shikhar Dhawan fell early in India's pursuit.

The Proteas were defeated in the match by Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan.

Playing at home, Kishan struck a stunning 93, but he was dismissed while attempting to clear the ropes.

India won the match in 45.5 overs to tie the series 1-1, although Iyer stayed undefeated and hit 113 runs off 111 deliveries.
