Just like the performance of Gujrat Titans in the last season's IPL(Indian Premiere League) which took place in 2022, this time also the Gujrat Titans, with Hardik Pandya as their captain is leading on the points table at number one position with the net run rate(NRR) of +0.532. With this being said, the staggering performance of Delhi Capitals has seen a major downfall with a drop in their ranking to 10th position with a net run rate of just -0.768.
The BCCI(board of cricket control in India) announced the commencement of this season of IPL on 31st March with the first match taking place between Gujrat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at Ahemedabad’s Narendra Modi stadium.
The IPL fever has almost sprouted like a festival in India, one that comes with its own buzz and is most watched, tractioning major traffic. It is almost celebrated like a festival with pomp and show, with the audience cheering and rooting in support of their favourite team and players.
A total of 10 teams will be competing against each other divided into groups of 10. A total of 70 T-20 matches will be played over the course of 52 days which is scheduled to end on May 28th. Each team will have 14 playoffs to help decide the winner according to the ranking.
At the number one position is Gujrat Titans with 12 points, the champions of the previous season of IPL. The position at number two is occupied by the Lucknow Super Giants with a run rate of +0.639. While at the third spot lies Chennai Super Kings which is performing better than last year. LSG and CSK are almost running at the same pace with 11 points. The runner-ups of the previous season, Rajasthan Royals have a run rate of +800 and currently occupy 4th rank with 10 points.
In every match, there is some set of rules that have to be followed in order to calculate the points, rankings and winner of the match. The BCCI has set some guidelines for the game that needs to be followed. Some of the rules are as followed:-
