A new feature will be added to Meta owned WhatsApp, for its Android users. According to WABetaInfo, the company has released a new update that adds a search bar to the app Settings. The feature is made available via the Google Play Beta Programme. This indicates that the functionality is now only available only to beta testers and will be made available to a wider public in a future version after testing.
This is similar to the one available on WhatsApp Desktop, which allows users to see the groups they share with their friends without having to access their chat information. Apple iPhones already have the option to search app settings using the search bar. This feature facilitates the IOS user's search for a certain option within the app's settings.
A report was published on this feature which also contained screenshots demonstrating how this feature would function on WhatsApp for Android. According to the photographs posted in the report, users will be able to simply access the search option at the top of the settings area and type what they need to search. Then the app will display the relevant results along with the appropriate prompts.
Those who have already received the functionality will notice a search icon in the action bar. The user can search in WhatsApp settings once the icon appears.
