On May 10, Google will commence its annual developer conference, I/O 2023, during which it is anticipated that multiple new hardware and software-related announcements will be made. Some of the products that may be introduced include the Android 14 OS and the Pixel 7a smartphone. The tech titan is also likely to release additional details about the much-anticipated Pixel Tablet at this event, and possibly give a sneak peek of the forthcoming Pixel 8 series, which is set to launch in October 2023. Aside from that, Google is expected to release the Pixel Fold, the company's first foray into the foldable smartphone market. This foldable smartphone's release date has apparently been revealed online.
According to the Twitter user named Jon Prosser, the pre-orders from partners and carrier firms will be accepted beginning May 30. Google, on the other hand, but Google may not start shipping the device until June 27.
It was previously speculated that the Pixel Fold would be available in mid-May, shortly after its unveiling at the Google I/O event in 2023. However, that may not be the case, and users will have to wait until June to get their hands on it. To recall, the Pixel 6a smartphone, which was announced in 2022, was released roughly two months later.
The estimated price according to previous rumors said that the Pixel Fold would cost between Rs 1,06,600 and Rs 1,23,000. According to Prosser, the Pixel Fold will cost $1,799 (about Rs 1,47,500) which is much higher than the previous speculations.
According to the tweet thread, The Pixel 7a is predicted to come in four color options: charcoal, sea, snow, and coral. The Coral color option will be available solely on the Google Store. Prosser also stated that the Pixel 7a will be available for purchase immediately following its May 10 unveiling. He also mentioned that Google may drop the Pixel 6a variant. Furthermore, he believes Google will launch the Pixel Tablet on the same day.
