Gangotri Temple

When you are in Gangotri you must visit Gangotri Temple. Without this your journey cannot be complete. This is an 18th century temple dedicated to Devi Ganga. This temple was built in the 18th century by a Gorkha commander named Amar Singh Thapa. This temple was rebuilt by the Maharaja of Jaipur in the 20th century. This is a unique temple of its kind located in India. There is a constant flow of devotees here throughout the year. When you go to this temple, do not miss the Aarti of Mata Ganga at all.

Trekking in Kalindi Khal Trek

If you have come to visit Gangotri and are planning to do some adventures, then you should definitely do trekking here. You can do trekking in Kalindi Khal Trek. Since this trek is quite difficult, you should consider trekking it only if you have experience in it. The trek takes a few hours. During the trek you will see beautiful alpine meadows, beautiful streams flowing downstream and lush green meadows.

Explore Gangotri National Park

Gangotri National Park is just 1.5 km away from Gangotri and is one of the best places to visit in Gangotri. Actually, Gangotri National Park is also known as Govind National Park. Seeing the natural beauty of this National Park, every year many botanists and nature lovers come here to visit. Not only this, medicinal plants are also present here, which are used to make medicine for wild animals like the white leopard and many other exotic wildlife, flora and fauna.

Nelong Valley

Nelong Valley is located inside Gangotri National Park in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Situated at an altitude of about 11,000 feet, this valley has a hilly desert scene like Lahaul-Spiti and Leh-Ladakh. The main attractions of this place are Garstang Gallien Wooden Bridge, Red Deity Temple, beautiful view of Tibetan plateau, many wildlife species like snow leopard, Himalayan blue sheep and musk deer.
