According to the Meteorological Department, the main reason for winter in North India is Western Disturbance. These days snowfall is continuing in the hilly areas due to which it is getting colder in the plains. However, in some areas of North India, sunlight has started coming out during the day. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says that this is some relief from the cold. After this the cold can knock once again. According to the information provided by the Meteorological Department, due to the Western Disturbance, there is a lot of pressure on the Himalayan region, due to which it may rain in the plains of North Western India from January 23 to January 25.
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light to moderate rains in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh on January 23 and 24. There is every possibility of thunder with this rain. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of light rain in the higher areas of these states.
Cold wave conditions may persist in some parts of West Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature may remain 2 to 5 degree Celsius in some parts of North Madhya Pradesh and some parts of East Uttar Pradesh.
