Anahat Singh of Delhi, after qualifying for the international tournament during selection trials, will represent India at the 2022 World Junior Squash Championship, which will be held in Nancy, France, from August 11 to 21.
At 14, Anahat became the youngest player to represent India at the World Junior Championships, defeating Maharashtra’s Aishwariya Khubchandani 3-0 in the finals of the selection trials conducted at the Indian Squash Academy in Chennai from June 4 to 8.
The youngster, the top-ranked player in India and Asia in the GU15 category, won the US Junior Squash Open in the same category in December 2021, becoming the first Indian female to accomplish so.

Anahat has also won several international medals for India, including gold in the British Junior Squash Open 2019, according to a statement released on Saturday.
She also won the European Junior Open and juvenile crowns at the Dutch Open and Scottish Open. She was a member of the Indian junior team that won bronze at the Asian Junior Championships.
The two-time national champion is gearing up to compete in the Asian Junior Squash Championship in Pattaya, Thailand, from June 15 to 19, following which she will go back to Europe to play the German and Dutch Junior Squash Open 2022 in July.
